A walk in the woods

I walk into the woods thick with trees of emerald green bejeweled with burst of coloring leaves heralding the beginning of autumn spree seeking for the flower with exotic scent that is pulling me towards it. I walk into the woods listening to the gentle jingling of the leaves swaying from side to side with the gentle breeze seeking for the beautiful song that i hear amidst the chaos that is pulling me towards it. I walk into the woods following the stream of azure blue carving its own path amidst the boulders seeking to find its way towards the destination. I walk into the woods just to realize that the exotic scent, song, path to destination I should seek all of it within me Its all in my own self just waiting to be found.                                                                  - Nirmala

Rain in Summer...

In the sweltering summer heat of april, trees filled with flowers of different colors of yellow, lavender, pink and red, trees laden with mangoes, new leaves paving their way from the barren branches with a spray of green on the trees. Today, we were sitting at our desk; we saw that there was a change in weather, maybe nature’s call to cool down the heat. A strong gush of wind was blowing the trees and bushes in the campus left and right. My first instinct was to go for a walk in the wind and have a nice hot mocha. Me and my colleagues went out to enjoy the wind. I was exalted by the fresh air and the wind when it blew across my face. Slowly there was a spray of rain mixed with rain was pushing the trees and branches in the direction of the wind. We could hear the strong winds whistling among the leaves. We stepped out towards the food court to get our coffee. The moment we stepped out it started raining in torrents. My friends sp...

A day in spring...

Today, it was a beautiful sunny day of the spring. In the morning, on my way to work me normally enjoy the wonders of nature and relish the cool breeze that sways amidst the rushes and dry grass. It touches my cheek to greet me a very good morning. I could see the trees with a new sprig of life with all the new leaves and branches turning green, trees filled with bright flowers. The shades of light playing across he leaves with a shimmer so fine that it looks as though the spot lights are turned on J . Today I was reading a good book listening to my favourite songs, a beam of sunlight was falling on my face. It was so graceful that I enjoyed the whole combination. I could’nt resist a smile on my lips watching the whole scene. I know it sounds crazy, but its amazing to see that these small things will make your day at times. We just have to look at them. It made me to enjoy the present without any thoughts of past or future. I believe we should live in the present and enjoy ever...

Hike along Lotschental

Image
A Canvas of green amidst the high steep mountains separated by a merrily gurgling river and springs..depicts the Valais Region of Switzerland. As part of this week’s hike we planned to go to Lotschental. It is located near the Thun Region closer to the Interlaken region. The weather was awesome, not hot not cold..a pleasant day of late summer. We reached took the route of BadenàBernàGoppenstein via train. Then took a bus to Wilen, Lotschental. Our Plan was to reach FlaferAlps. We took a cable car to reach the Lauscher Alps..our start point. We walked through the valley along a route, which was most panoramic. Huge mountains, glaciers, tiny houses located at varying heights. As we walked along, there was the pleasant breeze blowing. Every bend that we took brought before us a new view of the valley that was beautiful beyond words. There were several trekkers French, Swiss, Italians who walked along. It was fun as we greet each other and come across the s...

Figure Theatre

In the beautiful sunny Sunday which is a treat in itself during winter I had a most amazing experience. I found something interesting in the newspaper on Friday regarding a Figure theatre . I din know what it was all about but I found it interesting so I reserved a seat for the show which turned out to be a Premiere:-). It was a very good choice of me to go there…I must say. Art in any form be it music, theatre is a universal language which reaches to audience of any nationality. At last I came to know what a figure theatre is all about. It was a kind of puppet theatre. This was the first time I had been to such a show. It was a small room with around 25-30 seats. Audiences both Children and adults seemed to enjoy the show. I too din know I could understand so much German/Deutsch. I was able to relate to the story that was beautifully narrated by the performer. It was the story of a sailor who wanted to explore the world and reach New York city. He left all his friends behind and his h...
