Hike to Snow Lake and Snowqualmie falls

Image
As I write this blog the song Kal ho na ho is playing in the background making it appropriate for the experience I had in this trip.              Its been a long week and a while since I entered into the realms of mother nature. This weekend , few friends shortlisted to trek along the Snow lake trails in the Snowqualmie forests. It was an hour's drive from my place. It was supposedly a moderate level hike with an elevation of 1400 ft and around 7.2 miles round trip.              We started at around 10.30 am to arrive just in time when the misty clouds were clearing away in the Snowqualmie west summit. All along the drive we could see the clouds covering the peaks of the cascades with slight drizzle as well. The drive in itself was very beautiful.                      The trail started with a few ...

What an evening it turned out to be this weekend..A cloudy start followed by a hopeful ray of sunshine leading to a welcome through a beautiful rainbow as we entered Nisqually.                    This time i wanted to share a unique kind of experience that i had. I was looking for something different from normal routine activities to do this summer. I came across a bioluminescence tour at Kayak Nisqually in WA. I found it interesting and wanted to try this experience at the Luhr Beach, Nisqually delta area. It was an hour's drive from my place and so i gathered a few other like minded friends who were as adventurous or crazy like me:). Before i get started , let me share a little tip on what is this Bioluminescence ?? Wikipedia definition: Bioluminescence  is the production and emission of light by a living organism. It is a form ...

A walk in the rain...

Seattle and Rain go hand in hand which is something like bread and butter:).              It was a perfect rainy day this saturday with rain pouring in full glory throughout the day. Before we get to the rainy part, let me share my experience in the break of dawn this saturday.          As i woke up it seemed to start on a cool note. As i was sipping my cup of tea in my balcony, I could see the stage setting for the rest of the day live in action. Its been my habit to enjoy my tea observing the cloud formations in the morning.  Initially, i could see the formations like a pair of eyes looking at me from far beyond through the clouds.                  Slowly it was followed by a band of greyish black stretch of clouds. As it drifted along, it took the form of a giant bird with outstretched wings just flying across which was a bit shady.      ...

Reflections of an evening in Spring

Image
I always love the transition phase of seasons. It becomes so unpredictable and always comes with little surprises that makes my day refreshing. Mother Nature is as surprising like a little baby whose emotions are so unpredictable yet honest. Being friday, i was hoping for a relaxed weekend and the day started with showers predicted to be sunny in the evening. It indeed was a very beautiful day with the sunny side of the day in full glory by evening. I could get the glimpses of mother nature's artwork in our Seattle downtown in the noon. I headed from work in the evening to explore and stroll around our Bellevue Downtown. I wanted to see the Meydenbayer beach which is small, not crowded but pleasant one close to downtown. As i walked towards it exploring new paths and enjoying the views of cherry blossoms in full bloom here and there and shaken up in the cool breeze forming a carpet on the ground. But the Meydenbayer park was closed until fall due to some const...
