Image
A Canvas of green amidst the high steep mountains separated by a merrily gurgling river and springs..depicts the Valais Region of Switzerland. As part of this week’s hike we planned to go to Lotschental. It is located near the Thun Region closer to the Interlaken region. The weather was awesome, not hot not cold..a pleasant day of late summer. We reached took the route of BadenàBernàGoppenstein via train. Then took a bus to Wilen, Lotschental. Our Plan was to reach FlaferAlps. We took a cable car to reach the Lauscher Alps..our start point. We walked through the valley along a route, which was most panoramic. Huge mountains, glaciers, tiny houses located at varying heights. As we walked along, there was the pleasant breeze blowing. Every bend that we took brought before us a new view of the valley that was beautiful beyond words. There were several trekkers French, Swiss, Italians who walked along. It was fun as we greet each other and come across the s

Figure Theatre

In the beautiful sunny Sunday which is a treat in itself during winter I had a most amazing experience. I found something interesting in the newspaper on Friday regarding a Figure theatre . I din know what it was all about but I found it interesting so I reserved a seat for the show which turned out to be a Premiere:-). It was a very good choice of me to go there…I must say. Art in any form be it music, theatre is a universal language which reaches to audience of any nationality. At last I came to know what a figure theatre is all about. It was a kind of puppet theatre. This was the first time I had been to such a show. It was a small room with around 25-30 seats. Audiences both Children and adults seemed to enjoy the show. I too din know I could understand so much German/Deutsch. I was able to relate to the story that was beautifully narrated by the performer. It was the story of a sailor who wanted to explore the world and reach New York city. He left all his friends behind and his h

PARIS…Part One A place of beauty, architectural marvels, fantastic cuisines, unique pieces of art, choicest place of many great artists is in short the place PARIS . Its my pleasure to share my experience of visiting the city of Paris. I had been to Paris during the Christmas vacation. It was a most awaited trip filled with all enthusiasm and interest. I took a train from Baden, Switzerland to Basel. I had to travel via a TGV which was also a first time for me. With some initial hiccups and a journey of almost 5 hours I reached Gare’ De Est station in Paris. I was received by my friend who was to join me in my trip. After having a small dose of coffee we took the network of sub way trains to reach our destination Gare’ De Lyon wherein I had booked the accommodation in Hotel Lyon Bastille. It was my second stinct with the subway metros and tube stations after the one in London. It brought many pleasant memories of my visit to London some time ago. The subway metros are all well connecte

Changing Seasons...

Its been quite some time since I wrote something. The past few weeks have been quite an interesting experience. Some sweet, bitter experiences which makes life more admirable…atleast in my opinion. There were some new places, new friends, new events but still the same old me in all these different frames:-). The new year started with shower of snow making the environment quite cold but at the same time beautiful, some new acquaintances, pleasant surprises. I was feeling completely at home to be back in Switzerland…just like the phrase “HOME AWAY FROM HOME”. I had the opportunity to visit Paris/PARI as the French call it during christmas. It’s a beautiful city with its own uniqueness. However I enjoyed only a few of those locales, but really worth the visit. Just as the weather was playing see-saw b/w cold and bright sunshine in the days to come, I came across some interesting situations. Change seems inevitable as time passes by, be it with weather, people, friends.... I could see the m
